Monsters to Start Second Season with Five-Game Home Stand

The Lake Erie Monsters, presented by Kaiser Permanente, will face the Grand Rapids Griffins on Saturday, October 11th at 7:30 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena to kick off a five-game home stand that will begin their second season in Cleveland. The 80-game regular season schedule was released by the American Hockey League today.

The Monsters will play 31 of their 40 home games on the weekend, including six Friday games, 15 Saturday games, and 10 Sunday games. Four of the Saturday games will be double-headers, with The Q hosting both hockey and basketball in the same day. On October 18th (Cavs preseason), November 22nd and March 7th, the Monsters will host a matinee match-up, followed by a Cleveland Cavaliers nightcap. March 21st will feature the Cavs in the early game, followed by the Monsters at night.

Worcester Sharks Release 2008-09 Schedule for All-Star Season

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr released today in conjunction with the American Hockey League, the Worcester Sharks 2008-09 regular season schedule. The Sharks home opener will be on Saturday, October 18th vs. the Providence Bruins at 7:05 p.m. at the DCU Center. Fans are encouraged to visit Sharksahl.com to view the schedule in its entirety.

The Sharks will commence the 2008-09 All-Star season with two games on the road, the first in Lowell as they take on the Devils at the Paul E. Tsongas Arena for a 7:00 p.m. game on Saturday, October 11th. After a visit with the Albany River Rats in Glens Falls, NY for a 7:30 p.m. match-up on Friday, October 17th, the Sharks will travel home for a battle against their divisional rival, the Providence Bruins.

Pirates Announce 2008-09 Regular Season Schedule

PORTLAND, ME - The Portland Pirates announced today their 2008-09 AHL regular season schedule. The Pirates will begin their sixteenth season as a member of the American Hockey League and embark on the 32nd season of professional hockey in Portland on Saturday, October 11, 2008 against the Manchester Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. In addition to opening night, the Pirates’ schedule features home games to be played at venues in Lewiston on November 14th against the Albany River Rats and March 14th against the Lowell Devils and in Orono on December 9th against Manchester. The Pirates will also travel to HSBC Arena in Buffalo on February 10th to play Albany at the home of the Pirates’ NHL affiliate Buffalo Sabres, starting at 7:00 p.m.

Aeros season tickets now on sale online

Houston Aeros seek National Anthem singers for 2008-09 season

HOUSTON, Texas - The 2008-09 Houston Aeros hockey season is just around the corner. The regular season schedule is coming out very soon and the players will converge for training camp before we know it. Besides roster spots, the Aeros are also looking to find National Anthem singers!

Crunch Announce Six Home Dates for 2008-09 Season

Syracuse, NY (July 17, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today six home dates for the 2008-09 season.

The Crunch will be playing at home on Friday, October 24, Saturday, November 15, Friday, November 28, Saturday, December 20, Saturday, December 27 and Saturday, January 24. Opponents and times have not yet been determined.

The Crunch’s complete schedule for the 2008-09 season will be announced later in the summer.

‘Canes to Open 2008-09 Season at Home Against Florida

RALEIGH, NC-The National Hockey League today announced that the Carolina Hurricanes will open their 2008-09 season at the RBC Center on Friday, Oct. 10, against the Southeast Division rival Florida Panthers. The league announced the home openers for each of its 30 member clubs, and is slated to announce each team’s complete 2008-09 schedule on Thursday, July 17.

Along with announcing each team’s opener, the NHL also announced each clubs’s “wildcard” opponents. The Hurricanes will face its divisional opponents - Atlanta, Florida, Tampa Bay and Washington - six times during the season, and its non-divisional conference opponents four times. Carolina will also play every Western Conference team at least once, and will play home-and-home sets with three “wildcard” Western Conference teams - the Anaheim Ducks, Phoenix Coyotes and St. Louis Blues.

Amerks to Open 53rd Season on October Tenth at BCA

(Rochester, NY)… The Rochester Americans will open their 53rd American Hockey League season on Friday, October 10th at 7:35 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial. The opponent will be announced at a later date.

Rochester enters the season as the sole affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Florida Panthers. The Amerks announced a three-year deal with the Panthers on June 19, 2008.

In 2008-09, the Amerks will remain in the seven-team Western Conference’s North Division. The division includes Rochester, Hamilton, Manitoba, Grand Rapids, Toronto, Lake Erie, and thruway rival, Syracuse. Fans will also have a chance to watch 18 of the league’s 29 teams at The Blue Cross Arena.

B-Sens Release Schedule Of Opponents For 2008-09 Season

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today their schedule of opponents for the 2008-09 American Hockey League season.

New to the B-Sens’ schedule this season are the two Texas teams, the Houston Aeros (Minnesota Wild) and the San Antonio Rampage (Phoenix Coyotes). The B-Sens will play each team twice (one home, one road), marking the first trip to the state of Texas for the franchise.

Binghamton’s East Division schedule remains unchanged from last season, with the club playing eight games (four home, four road) against the Albany River Rats (Carolina Hurricanes), Bridgeport Sound Tigers (New York Islanders), Hershey Bears (Washington Capitals), Norfolk Admirals (Tampa Bay Lightning), Philadelphia Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers) and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins).
