Rampage Name Mike Ermatinger As Head Athletic Trainer

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Rampage announced today that Mike Ermatinger has been named the Head Athletic Trainer for the Rampage, the Phoenix Coyotes’ primary American Hockey League affiliate.

Ermatinger joins the Rampage from the Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL where he spent last season working as the team’s Head Athletic Trainer. Prior to joining the Sea Wolves, Ermatinger worked as the Athletic Trainer for the Youngstown SteelHounds of the Central Hockey League (CHL) where he was honored with the CHL’s 2007 Athletic Trainer of the Year Award.

Rampage Name John Krouse Head Equipment Manager

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Rampage announced today that John Krouse has been named the head equipment manager for the Rampage, the Phoenix Coyotes’ primary American Hockey League affiliate.

Krouse was previously employed as the head equipment manager for the Iowa Stars, the Dallas Stars’ primary AHL affiliate. Prior to his three-year stint with Iowa, Krouse spent six seasons with the Pensacola Ice Pilots of the ECHL where he was named the 2004 ECHL Equipment Manager of the Year.

Coyotes Renew Affiliation Agreement With San Antonio Rampage

GLENDALE, ARIZONA — Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed a new two-year affiliation agreement with the American Hockey League’s (AHL) San Antonio Rampage for the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons. The Rampage has been the Coyotes’ sole AHL affiliate since the 2005-06 season.

“We are excited to continue our relationship with the San Antonio Rampage,” said Maloney. “They are a first-class organization that provides an outstanding environment in which our young players can learn and develop. We have been extremely pleased with the affiliation to this point and look forward to a great future together.”

Rampage Beat Marlies 3-0 To Force Game Seven

TORONTO - The Phoenix Coyotes’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage defeated the Toronto Marlies 3-0 in Game 6 of the North Division Semifinals.

Rookies Chad Kolarik and Dylan Reese tallied two points apiece for the Rampage, and second-year netminder Josh Tordjman made 38 saves in a victory over the Marlies that forces a series-deciding Game 7 on Monday night in Toronto.

Kolarik and Reese each scored in the first period to get the Rampage off to a fast start.

Rampage headed back to Toronto down 3-2

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Rampage dropped a 2-1 decision to the Toronto Marlies in Game 5 of the North Division Semifinals Friday night in front of 7,022 at the AT&T Center.

The Rampage started the scoring with the puck tumbling about in a frenzied pack. Jon DiSalvatore came away with the biscuit and capped off the relentless Rampage offensive with his second goal of the series. Chad Kolarik and Logan Stephenson each picked up their first assist of the series on the marker, tallied with 1:52 left in the first period.

Rampage come up short, series tied

SAN ANTONIO - David Spina’s goal with 8.8 seconds left in regulation brought the San Antonio Rampage within one, but the Toronto Marlies held on for a 3-2 victory and tied the best-of-seven series at 2 games apiece Wednesday night at the AT&T Center.

A fluke goal early in the opening period proved to be costly for the Rampage.

As Keith Yandle tried to swat the puck away from goaltender Josh Tordjman’s vicinity, it deflected off captain Bryan Helmer’s skate and into the Rampage net. The goal was officially credited to Toronto center John Mitchell, his second of the series. The Marlies have tallied the game-opening goal in three of the four contests.

Chad Kolarik Joins Rampage

SAN ANTONIO (Apr. 14, 2008) - The San Antonio Rampage announced today that they have signed forward Chad Kolarik to an amateur tryout (ATO) for the remainder of the season. Kolarik signed an entry-level contract with the Phoenix Coyotes yesterday that begins with the 2008-09 season.

He will join the Rampage as they begin their first round Calder Cup Playoff series against the Toronto Marlies on Wednesday.

Kolarik, 22, recently completed his senior season at the University of Michigan where he helped lead the Wolverines to their 23rd Frozen Four appearance in school history. Kolarik finished the season ranked second on the team in scoring with 56 points (30 goals, 26 assists). He also ranked third in the nation in points and fourth in goals.
