Phantoms Announce Exhibition Home Games

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Philadelphia Phantoms announced today that the team will play two home exhibition games at the area Skate Zones in the weeks leading up to the 2008-09 American Hockey League campaign. For a second straight season, the Lowell Devils and Norfolk Admirals will provide the opposition.

The first contest is slated for Monday, Sept. 22, at the Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ. New head coach John Paddock is expected to make his Phantoms debut, as the club will take on the Devils at 1:30 PM.

Monsters announce upcoming schedule

The Lake Erie Monsters, presented by Kaiser Permanente, will face the Grand Rapids Griffins on Saturday, October 11th at 7:30 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena to kick off a five-game home stand that will begin their second season in Cleveland. The 80-game regular season schedule was released by the American Hockey League today. The Monsters will play 31 of their 40 home games on the weekend, including six Friday games, 15 Saturday games, and 10 Sunday games. Four of the Saturday games will be double-headers, with The Q hosting both hockey and basketball in the same day. On October 18th (Cavs preseason), November 22nd and March 7th, the Monsters will host a matinee match-up, followed by a Cleveland Cavaliers nightcap. March 21st will feature the Cavs in the early game, followed by the Monsters at night.

Rivermen Announce 2008-09 Schedule

The Peoria Rivermen will open the 2008-09 home portion of the season on Saturday, October 11 against the West Division’s newest team, the Iowa Chops, as the American Hockey League released the schedule for its 73rd season of play today.

This will be Peoria’s fourth season in the American Hockey League as the top affiliate of the St. Louis Blues. New head coach Davis Payne will take over behind the bench after serving as assistant coach last season. Payne led the Alaska Aces to the ECHL’s Kelly Cup Championship as head coach in 2006 and followed that season by being named ECHL Coach of the Year in 2007.

Wolf Pack Announce 2008-09 Schedule

HARTFORD, August 7, 2008: Northland AEG today announced the schedule for the Hartford Wolf Pack’s 2008-09 American Hockey League season, the team’s 12th AHL campaign.

The 80-game regular season kicks off with the home opener at the XL Center Saturday, October 11th, with faceoff at 7:00. The opponents that night are the arch-rival Springfield Falcons, whom the Wolf Pack will battle a total of ten times on the season, five at home and five on the road. The other adversaries whom the Pack will see the most in 2008-09 are their in-state rivals the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, also scheduled to tangle with the Wolf Pack 10 times.

Lowell Devils Announce 2008-09 Schedule

LOWELL, Mass. - The Lowell Devils, American Hockey League affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, announced their 2008-09 regular season schedule today. The Devils will open their third season in the AHL on the road against the Providence Bruins on October 8th.

The Devils’ begin their home schedule at the Tsongas Arena on Saturday, October 11th at 7:00 p.m., when they battle the Worcester Sharks. Lowell will host 40 regular season games at home this season, including 26 weekend contests (Friday, Saturday or Sunday).

Pirates Announce 2008-09 Regular Season Schedule

PORTLAND, ME - The Portland Pirates announced today their 2008-09 AHL regular season schedule. The Pirates will begin their sixteenth season as a member of the American Hockey League and embark on the 32nd season of professional hockey in Portland on Saturday, October 11, 2008 against the Manchester Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. In addition to opening night, the Pirates’ schedule features home games to be played at venues in Lewiston on November 14th against the Albany River Rats and March 14th against the Lowell Devils and in Orono on December 9th against Manchester. The Pirates will also travel to HSBC Arena in Buffalo on February 10th to play Albany at the home of the Pirates’ NHL affiliate Buffalo Sabres, starting at 7:00 p.m.

Penguins Announce Preseason Schedule

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will play a four game preseason schedule in preparation for the 2008-09 season, it was announced on Friday.

B-Sens Announce Preseason Schedule

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that the club will play four preseason games in preparation of their seventh American Hockey League season.

The B-Sens will take the ice at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena for home games against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday, September 26 at 7:05 p.m. and the Syracuse Crunch on Saturday, October 4 at 7:05 p.m.

Binghamton will head south down I-81 for a road game against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday, September 27 at 7:05 p.m. followed by a road game against the Syracuse Crunch on Friday, October 3 (location & time TBD).

Wolf Pack Announce 2008-09 Home Opener Date, Five Additional Home Dates

HARTFORD, July 24, 2008: Northland AEG announced today that the Hartford Wolf Pack’s gala 2008-09 home opener will take place Saturday, October 11th at the XL Center.

That date is among six “prime” home-ice dates guaranteed to the Wolf Pack by the American Hockey League. The others are: Saturday, November 1st, Saturday, December 20th, Saturday, January 3rd, Friday, January 16th and Friday, January 30th.

The entire 2007-08 Wolf Pack schedule, including opponents and game times, will be announced later this month.

Lightning Announce Admirals Coaching Staff

TAMPA, FL - The Tampa Bay Lightning, parent club of the American Hockey League’s Norfolk Admirals, have named Mike Butters general manager, Darren Rumble head coach and Alan May assistant coach of the Admirals, Lightning owners Oren Koules and Len Barrie announced today.

“Mike Butters is a lifetime hockey man with extended experience as a player, manager and owner,” Lightning vice president of hockey operations Brian Lawton said. “He is a meticulous evaluator of talent and his knowledge of the game will prove to be a valuable asset for the Admirals as we try to return them to the top of the standings.”
