Bentley’s performances for Blackburn Rovers in recent years have seen him tipped as David Beckham’s natural successor on the right side of England’s midfield.

The transition is yet to occur, however, as Beckham’s experience and reliability have kept him firmly in Capello’s plans.

Bentley, with six caps to his name, has thus far failed to produce on the international stage the sort of form he displayed at Ewood Park.

But Waddle, who made 62 appearances for the Three Lions, believes the 23-year-old needs a run of starts to properly adapt to international football.

Bentley Tips Hughes For Old Trafford
Hughes: Only I Decide Who Leaves

Former Liverpool forward Craig Bellamy, infamously dubbed ‘the nutter with a putter’ for his exploits with John Arne Riise in a Portuguese training camp, has been ruled out for around four weeks due to a troublesome hamstring injury.

Bellamy being sidelined means that manager Alan Curbishley will either have to dip into the transfer market for a temporary replacement, or promote from within.

Freddie Sears, 18, came to prominence towards the end of last season and hopes that he is given the chance to shine at the beginning of this campaign so that he can stake a claim for a regular role with the Hammers.

Tiago joined the Bianconeri from Lyon last year for €13m, however he has had a miserable 12 months in Italy.

It has been clear for quite some time now that Tiago would be leaving Juve this summer, providing a buyer could be found, and over the past week or so it has become a straight battle between Everton and Newcastle United for the player’s signature.

Juventus transfer director Alessio Secco admitted recently that two English clubs want to sign Tiago and, according to reports in Italy, Everton have come to an agreement with the Old Lady over a transfer fee.
